You see the difference between the observations of one person (make that two people--I didn't notice significant price increases when the minimum wage increased in Ontario either) and metastudies of the economic literature, right?

We know a lot less about minimum wage than most people care to admit. That being said, the government does have to set a minimum wage (even if it's $0), so we're forced to put the policy ahead of research here. I think you would agree with me in saying that "We don't know enough" isn't an argument for maintaining the status quo.
